Saturday 1 October 2011 could not get off to a better start than the Barclays Premier League game between fierce rivals Everton and Liverpool. The game from Goodison Park is the first meeting of the season between Merseyside’s top two teams and is sure to be a cracker. Everton suffered a bad weekend last time out with a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City. If the poor result was not enough, the Toffees also lost Tim Cahill after a nasty challenge by Vincent Kompany and he looks certain to miss the visit of the Reds. Liverpool got back to winning ways last weekend with a hard fought victory at Anfield over Wolves. Kenny Dalglish will be happy to go into this on the back of a win and another excellent goal and performance from Luis Suarez will be of worry to Everton. Steven Gerrard may also be pushing for a return to the starting line-up after another 10 minutes under the belt.
