After picking up one of their easiest ever league wins of the season at Loftus Road on Sunday, Liverpool will turn their attention to Martin O Neill’s Sunderland as they play the Wearsiders on Wednesday.
The Reds, without regular manager Brendan Rodgers, dominated QPR at Loftus Road and lead 3-0 within half an hour thanks to some brilliant trickery from Luis Suarez and a header from Daniel Agger.
QPR were there for the taking and Liverpool could have easily doubled their scoreline, but they chose to take their foot off the pedestal and settled for a 3-0 win at the final whistle. Jose Enrique limped off against the Hoops and is an injury doubt for Sunderland’s visit to Anfield.
Sunderland go into this game having had their two game winning streak halted by Tottenham Hotspur. The Black Cats took the lead through John O’Shea but two quick goals at the start of the second half gave Spurs the win.
It is the Reds vs the Black Cats as Liverpool host Sunderland in a midweek Round 21 fixture in the Premiership.
