West Ham were stunned by out of form Reading, with James Collins’ early mistake costing the Hammers dearly as Pavel Pogrebnyak capitalized to score the only goal of the evening. The Londoners have now lost five of their last seven games and more importantly, will be without Collins and inspirational skipper Kevin Nolan for Norwich’s visit.

Both Collins and Nolan were booked against Reading, thereby earning an automatic one game suspension for collecting five yellow cards. This will no doubt add to Sam Allardyce’s headaches as Norwich have been in good form recently and scored thrice against Man City on Saturday.

While the Canaries did lose to City, they would have taken heart from their second half performance that saw them run Roberto Mancini’s side close. Anthony Pilkington and Russell Martins were the scorers for Norwich against City.

West Ham will be without the services of both James Collins and Kevin Nolan when they host Norwich on New Years’ Day in the Premiership.
